Was it Parcells who said "You are what your record is"?? According to his logic, wrong team favored... We will see..

Tampa coming off an embarrasing loss against a team who hasn't played a good team yet. It's in Tampa to top it off. Dallas doesn't have the power running game needed to compete in this one.

Tampa's problem is not so much the rush. It's the pass downfield that is giving them trouble now and Quincy Carter leads all QB's in yards per attempt. Ever since Brian Kelley got hurt against Indy their pass defense has been exposed. And in this league when a weekness is exposed, it becomes a feeding frenzy. Look for Carter, Galloway, Glenn and Bryant to expose The Bucs deep. Line is already at 6.5 and may go to 7. I'd wait to see if it goes up and grab the 7.

A great angle on this game is Parcells is going to Tampa where he turned down the job and eventually Gruden hired. Tampa had thought they had hired Parcells but were shocked when he reneged. This is the kind of game where Tampa, not only needs this game, wants this game. Gruden is eager to go up against the person by whom all recent coaches are judged. Gruden will not only want to prove to the Tampa community that he was the right choice for Tampa but prove to himself he is a better coach than Parcells. With the number 1 and 2 offenses in the NFC, I expect a lot of points in this one unlike what the current over line is. Tampa is definitely the play here as Dallas steps up in competition. To date, their schedule is as follows: Atlanta, NY Giants, NY Jets, Arizona, Philadelphia, and the Lions. Not exactly the toughest schedule in the league. Tampa has played Philadelphia, Carolina, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Washington, and San Francisco. Just a little better schedule. Dallas is better than last year but not as good as their record this year.

jgerson,

If TB wins the game, in no way should Gruden think he's a better coach than Parcells. In my book it's not even close.
This is a HUGE game for Dallas, and there is nobody like Parcells to get a team ready for a game. I love the line at 6.5. It makes people think " the bucs only have to win by a TD", and that's where they get ya.

Dallas +6.5

I'm on the Cowboys in this one. TB is going up against the number defense in the league right? Just numbers, but, as long as Q has time in the pocket he should be able to find a couple of his FAAAAASSSSSSSTTTTTTT receivers.

Don't tell me Dallas hasn't played anyone. Dallas plays to win. They are 5-1. Bucs are 3-3. Dallas is clicking on all cylinders. Tampa has all their cylinders in need of a tuneup with all their injuries in the secondary. Dallas is a much better passing team than they are a rushing team and Tampa's weakness plays into the Cowboys strengths. Tampa is hurting on offense with the losses of Alstott and Jeravicious.
I see Dallas D causing Tampa to turn the ball over and Quincy and the Boys putting the ball down Tampa's throat. This will be a great game. Take the points.

Who gives a damn. Have you seen how they are playing? They lost to the Falcons in week one. They could wash their ass with the Falcons right now. Who the hell did Ohio State play when they beat Miami last year for the National Championship. It's all about matchups, motivation, execution, and coaching.
Every team in the NFL is capable of beating any team. Action not words.

Who cares if Tampa has played two teams with winning records if they lost to both of them. Dallas would beat Carolina and SF. The Bucs lost to both of them.

So if Kansas st plays 10 patsies and goes 10-0 they should be in the BCS Championship game??????????

I think it does matter who each team has played. Bottom line, Dallas is over achieving and TB is under achieving. It's only a matter of time until each team plays like normal. Is that this week? Who knows.

Personally I think the Bucs roll here. Remember this is still Quincy Carter. I think the Bucs defense will confuse him all day.

I don't think Dallas could beat either of the above mentioned teams.

You guys have rose colored glasses on. Tampa could beat Dallas by 50 but it's not because Tampa has played a tougher schedule, it would be because they played better that day. Tampa is a great team, with injuries. Dallas will exploit Tampa's weaknesses this week.

SF beat Tampa 24-7 last weak.
Dallas beat Detroit 38-7 last week.

SF this year has lost to Cleveland in SF 13-12, and lost to Minnesota 35-7.
Looks to me you have teams heading in opposite directions. Tampa is following suit of the Raiders. Keep thinking they will turn it around, eventually they won't.
Tampa has lost every other game this year. So they are due for a win. You can look at each game over 100 different ways. It's up to you to decide which angle you want to use. I like Dallas plus the points.
It would be easier to pick Dallas if they had beat KC, and Minnesota. Spare me with the obvious, give me something that isn't obvious.

A little something to think about. My locals lines are a bit different then most so bear with me but I have found that whenever you have a team that is favoured by 7 which they were last week on my local (dallas) and they win and then are a (5 point)dog the week after playing a team who was a favourite and looses and still favoured....lookout. I have cashed in this way numerous times and its time i start recording that stuff. The line moves from week to week regaarding these teams is abosolutely ridiculous. Win or Loose(preferably win..lol)Im on the boys in this one...and i hate dallas.

I'm with Dallas as well - better Defense and better Offense - and getting 6.5?? I think the wrong team is favored in this one.

uncovered this nugget of info this morning.
In the history of the Bucs franchise, coming off a su loss as a road fav, they have covered the spread in the next game as a home fav every time.. 14-0.. Fwiw..
